Robo Creators Club offers specialised training to prepare teams for the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Regional Competition (specifically the Challenge division for ages 9-16), focusing on the three core elements of the contest. The primary focus is on the Robot Game, where participants learn advanced robot design and programming using platforms like LEGO Education SPIKE Prime. They work to develop robust, precise robots and effective code to autonomously complete a series of missions on a themed challenge mat, aiming for consistency and maximum score in a limited time. This hands-on training emphasises engineering principles, sensor integration, and strategic problem-solving to master the seasonal mission tasks.
Beyond the technical skills, the training at Robo Creators Club also heavily integrates the research, innovation, and Core Values components critical to FLL success. Teams are guided through the process of identifying a real-world problem related to the season’s theme, designing an Innovative Project solution, and preparing a compelling presentation for the judges. Crucially, the club fosters the FLL Core Values of teamwork, inclusion, and “Gracious Professionalism” by encouraging collaborative work, respectful competition, and mutual learning. This holistic approach ensures students are not only technically proficient but also possess the soft skills and confidence required to excel in all judging categories at the regional event.
